What's NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was established by the Australian government in 2013. The NDIS is governed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

The NDIS is designed to support Australians who have a permanent and significant disability by connecting them to services in their communities, such as doctors, support groups, sporting clubs, schools, and libraries.

The NDIS focuses on care and capacity building of individuals over their lifetime, so participants can improve their skills and independence. The NDIS is also about helping families and friends who care for and support individuals with disability. For more information, click here.
